FREE Telehealth Pilot

What is the Free Telehealth Pilot?

This initiative expands access to telehealth and telemental health support for New York’s early childhood educators, making it easier to connect with health care providers and mental health professionals: privately, virtually, and on your own schedule.

What supports will the pilot offer?

10 No-cost virtual mental health sessions

With a licensed mental health provider, for yourself or anyone in your household, for up to one year.

Unlimited Telehealth visits with doctors & pediatricians

For one year — consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and prescriptions for a wide range of common conditions.

Who is eligible?

  • You work in a licensed or registered child care program in New York State.
  • You do not currently have access to a telehealth or telemental health benefit.

How can I enroll?

Complete the enrollment form

Use the link to fill out a short form letting us know you’d like to participate. You will have the option to opt into paid research through the Action Research Collaborative through Cornell and/or additional benefits through Optima Benefits and Payroll.

Hear back from the team

You will receive a confirmation email with next steps to activate your AllyHealth account, along with information on any paid research or additional benefits you choose to opt into.

Start using your benefit

Book virtual visits with mental health providers, doctors, and pediatricians on your schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this really free?

Yes. There is no cost to eligible participants. The pilot is supported by a federal Preschool Development Grant Birth through Five (PDGB5) for one year.

Who can use the benefit besides me?

The telehealth and/or telemental health sessions can be used by you or anyone in your household.

How private is this?

Sessions are conducted virtually and privately with licensed providers, so you can get support on your own terms and schedule.

What can the telehealth visits be used for?

Consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and prescriptions for a wide range of common conditions.

How long does the benefit last?

Up to one year from enrollment for both the mental health sessions and the unlimited doctor/pediatrician telehealth access.

How do I sign up?

Can this replace my medical insurance?

We encourage you to use this as a supplement to major medical insurance, not as a replacement for it.
